Accompanied by two historians from the Laboratoire d'Etude Rurale at Lyon 2 University, a group of Idele retirees published in December 2022 a hitherto unpublished history of the contribution of the technical institutes (iteb and itovic, then Idele) to the modernisation of livestock farming. The past needs to be considered, not judged. Sharing it with professionals, researchers, public authorities and, more broadly, social players is also intended to contribute to reflection on the issues of the present and the challenges of the future.
