PUDAMA - Ultra-localized fertilization - Precision Airplanter
Description
PUDAMA technology is an integral part of Kverneland's Optima range of precision air seeders. Its aim is to optimize the performance of the starter fertilizer applied during precision seeding. Unlike conventional seed drills, which apply fertilizer at sowing by means of a continuous band along the sowing line, the PUDAMA deposits a spot of fertilizer at the level of each seed. A brush, positioned at the level of each burier, retains the fertilizer. Thanks to a pressurized air jet, the brush opens and the fertilizer is pulsed into the furrow. The agronomic benefits of this technique have been tested by studies carried out by the University of Cologne, which show a 25% reduction in the dose of fertilizer applied, while maintaining 100% yield.
