This year, the Sommet de l’Élevage welcomes Jean-Marc Jancovici, engineer, climate expert, and co-founder of The Shift Project, along with Corentin Biardeau and Laure le Quéré from SP's agriculture team, for an essential conference on the future of livestock farming in a constrained world. Through rigorous analysis and concrete proposals, he will share the major insights from The Shift Project's report on agriculture, a reference document informed by numerous consultations with the agricultural sector and its various branches, to understand the links between food, livestock farming, and ecological transition. On the program: ✅ An overview: how can French herbivore farming adapt to planetary limits? What are its strengths and weaknesses? ✅ Concrete solutions: agroecology, farm autonomy, skill development, mobilization of sectors and territories, and innovation for a just transition. ✅ A round table: a moment of constructive exchange with agricultural stakeholders to confront viewpoints and collectively explore how to reconcile economic performance, quality production, rural employment, territorial vitality, and respect for living organisms in livestock farming. Jean-Marc Jancovici, known for his educational and committed approach, will offer keys to action, both at the sector and territorial levels.
