While protein sovereignty has become a national strategic issue, agronomic and zootechnical analytical references are necessary but often insufficient to enable livestock farmers to evolve their production systems. An assessment of the technical, environmental and economic impacts was carried out by simulation. The results for cow-calf and fattener farms will be presented.
