Livestock facing climate challenges: Jean-Marc Jancovici's perspective

This year, the Sommet de l’Élevage welcomes Jean-Marc Jancovici, engineer, climate expert, and co-founder of the Shift Project, along with Corentin Biardeau and Laure Le Quéré, from the Shift Project's agriculture team, for a crucial conference on the future of livestock farming in a constrained world. Through rigorous analysis and concrete proposals, they will share the major insights from the Shift Project's report on agriculture, a reference document developed in consultation with numerous stakeholders from the agricultural sector and its value chains, to better understand the links between food, livestock farming, and ecological transition.

 On the agenda:
✅ An overview: how can French herbivore livestock farming adapt to planetary boundaries? What are its strengths and limitations?
✅ Concrete solutions: agroecology, farm autonomy, upskilling, mobilization of value chains and territories, and innovation for a just transition.
✅ A round table: a moment for constructive exchanges with agricultural stakeholders to compare viewpoints and collectively explore how to reconcile economic performance, quality production, rural employment, territorial vitality, and respect for living organisms in livestock farming.

Jean-Marc Jancovici, renowned for his educational and committed approach, will offer keys for action at the scale of both value chains and territories.
A unique opportunity to listen to, and also to exchange with, one of the most influential thinkers of the ecological transition in France.
