Overhaul of on-farm genetic evaluations for beef cattle.
IBOVAL genetic evaluation will switch to a “Single-Step” method, which will enable the consideration of genotyping for as many beef breeds and evaluations as possible, to produce more accurate EBVs. At the same time, numerous changes in the phenotypes consideration are made to increase the GE robustness, according to the objectives of each breed societies, in order to maintain or even broaden the selection bases.
