Weighing at the FeedStation
Description
The ScaleUnit module is integrated into the FeedStation and weighs the animals daily. The concept is to simply take advantage of the animals passage through the FeedStation. Weighing is carried out without constraints, without handling for the farmer, and without the need for a holding alley.
ScaleUnit weighing at the FeedStation enables cattle farmers to:
- Maintain sufficient body reserves for an optimal calving interval,
- Specify rations in response to the animal's own metabolism,
- Early detection of disease, based on short-term live weight. Sudden weight loss is often a warning sign of poor health. An animal that limps, for example, sees its body reserves diminish.
- Monitor growth and GMQ. Weights are stored in the animal's card. With a curve, the breeder can check the history of each animal.
- Live visibility of weights when the animal is in the station.
Like all Hanskamp solutions, the ScaleUnit is easy to use and requires little maintenance.
