The conference will address the challenges of silvopastoralism in two contrasting territories, the Lodévois region and the Limousin Mountains, through the experience of livestock farmers seeking to remobilize wooded rangelands. It will revisit the land, professional, and institutional barriers that limit access to forests, and the need to create a shared culture between foresters and livestock farmers. This presentation will be given by Nathan Morsel of the Association for Pastoralism in the Limousin Mountains and a shepherdess. The presentation will open the discussion on the technical tools and synergies to be developed to sustainably structure these practices with the presentation of the DECA SYLPA project, presented by the Regional Chamber of Occitanie.
