Animal Welfare Award: Improving animal welfare through artificial intelligence
Description
Vet Vision AI is a solution created by veterinarians that provides farmers and their veterinarians with 24/7 welfare information so that every animal can thrive. Hardware installation is quick and easy; a timelapse camera is installed inside the building. This autonomous camera requires neither power supply nor network connection; a battery powers the camera for several weeks, and images are stored on a memory card. This camera takes photos at regular intervals (Timelapse) for 2 to 3 weeks. The images are then transmitted to ID Group teams to be compiled and analyzed by AI. The artificial intelligence will then study animal behavior to determine their welfare level and highlight causes of discomfort or distress (bedding discomfort, circulation difficulties, etc.). An analysis report is then made available to the farmer and their veterinarian. This comprehensive dashboard details observed behaviors as well as recommendations for improving the overall welfare of the herd.
