TIM KUBOTA System
Description
The TIM (Tractor Implement Management) system is a protocol that is part of the IsoBus communication standard between the tractor and the implement. It was developed to allow the driver to focus on a few operations, leaving others to be managed by the system, as the implement will be able to automatically control certain tractor functions. This bidirectional (two-way) communication between tractors and implements ensures efficient work, reduces human error, and increases driver comfort. As a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, Kubota is a pioneer in the field of tractor management by implements (TIM). In the baling sector, the first Kubota TIM system launched three years ago has already automated the most demanding repetitive actions for the driver. By automating the baling cycle — from stopping the tractor to tying and then ejecting the bale — the system reduces driver interventions from 10 to just 2. It also adjusts the PTO speed according to the baling cycle (baling, tying, ejection), thereby limiting machine wear and fuel consumption for optimized operating costs.
