Information

Photographer Gérard Rivollier followed the shepherd at Jacine (Puy de Dome), camera in hand, during the 2023 season. He documented the different phases of his work: guarding, tending, sorting, repairing fences, and of course the ascent and descent of the flock of 1,200 ewes, carried out on foot from the bottom of the valley. These photos are collected in a book entitled Une saison en estives, published by Éditions des Monts d'Auvergne. He will be accompanied by the shepherd of one of the Monts du Forez estives, whom he also followed this year for a new project.
